April Szeto, OALA CSLA
April graduated from the University of Guelph in 2007 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree and became a full member of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects in 2009. April joined Harrington McAvan Ltd. in 2006 and became a Principal of the firm in January of 2015.
April's work encompasses a wide variety of projects including municipal park and trail design, environmental restoration and naturalization, stream restoration, and high-end residential, condominium, and commercial landscape design. Her strength lies in her extensive experience in the areas of parks, trails, streetscapes, playgrounds, educational landscapes, and habitat restoration. April has successfully collaborated with conservation authorities, local and regional municipalities, developers, and community and sports groups. She is well versed in the development application process, government and conservation authority permitting and approvals, and the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process.
As a Principal Landscape Architect with Harrington McAvan Ltd, April is project leader, responsible for all aspects of each project's development and implementation. She is the primary contact for clients and is actively involved in background research and analysis, concept and master plan development, detailed design, development of contract documents, contract administration, and construction supervision.
